Lisa has over 26 years of federal investigative experience conducting criminal and civil investigations for the Internal Revenue Service in Charleston, South Carolina.
As a Special Agent for the Internal Revenue Service, Criminal Investigation Division (IRS-CI) for over 22 years, Lisa successfully conducted numerous investigations involving various financial fraud schemes including income tax evasion, money laundering, securities and investment fraud, corporate accounting fraud, currency structuring violations, and embezzlements. Lisa has worked complex joint criminal investigations with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Department of Homeland Security, the US Secret Service, State and local agencies. With her expertise in financial investigations and criminal tax fraud, Lisa has worked closely with the United States Attorney’s Office. She has testified on numerous occasions before federal courts and grand juries.
Prior to becoming an IRS Special Agent, Lisa worked as an IRS Revenue Agent. In that capacity, she performed numerous audits of individuals, small businesses, partnerships and corporations. Before her employment with the IRS, Lisa worked as an accountant with Schleeter, Monsen & Debacker, CPAs in Charleston.
Lisa has been licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of South Carolina since 1988. She graduated from the College of Charleston in 1985 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration, emphasis in Accounting.
